Sheer Qorma is a queer romance drama that showcases how love is perceived on the basis of gender. It also shines a light on all the preconceived notions about sexuality in our society. The film is about a Pakistani-Canadian citizen played by Swara Bhaskar, who travels to India with her lover(Divya Dutta). Shabana Azmi plays the role of Swara’s mother who is facing difficulties in accepting her Daughter’s choices.

Earlier Ansari shared about the film, “The character that Shabana Ji essays in Sheer Qorma are going to not only resonate with mothers all across the world but will also open a much-needed dialogue about parenthood, and with not just parents of queer children but a more universal dialogue that I hope will bring a lot of love back in our universe. Shabana Ji’s character in Sheer Qorma is the mother we all deserve”.

After traveling to so many film festivals across different countries, Sheer Qorma is yet to be released in India, and we are eagerly waiting to watch it.
