Navneet Nishan spoke candidly about some of her experiences while filming Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke in a recent interview with a major daily. For the uninitiated, Navneet portrayed Maya Bijlani, a character played by Dalip Tahil, who in the movie wished to wed Rahul Malhotra (Aamir Khan). She consequently had to collaborate with great actors like Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla as well as renowned filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. For Navneet, it was an incredible experience, and when asked about it, she stated:
“I was so nervous being on a set with Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla and Mahesh Bhatt. I was absolutely nobody. And here were these massive stars and these three little children, who were smart, cute, full of spunk and brilliant actors. I used to feel kahan aa gai hoon main. I couldn’t believe my luck that I was going to be a part of such a big film. It was a delightful experience. It was one of the most exhilarating, early experiences of my career.”
Navneet recollected how Aamir Khan made her kiss all day long
Navneet mentioned his fond memories of working on the film during the same conversation. She also remembered Aamir Khan as being quite mischievous yet a perfectionist. He made her kiss him all day to get the perfect shot because he developed the screenplay for the movie and played a significant role in it. Navneet had to kiss her on the cheeks seven to eight times in order to maintain the flow of the preceding scene. She disclosed:
“There was a cute scene which got edited, sadly . After our engagement, I go Aamir’s house to pick him up and give him peck on the cheek. There was a lipstick mark on his cheek when I kissed. And later, Aamir being Aamir said ‘This has to be in continuity’. So, all through the day, he made me kiss his cheek at least 7-8 times. I came home and I told my friends that I have kissed Aamir Khan all day long! Meri toh lottery nikal gayi.”

Navneet Nishan, who was born on October 25, 1965, is renowned for her outstanding acting in movies including My Name Is Khan (2010), Raja Hindustani (1996), and Zaalim (1994). In the Bollywood film Jaan Tere Naam, in which Ronit Roy also starred, she made her acting debut. She later appeared in more Hindi and Punjabi films. Additionally, she contributed to other TV series, such as Tara, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Chanakya, and others.
