Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is the longest-running Indian sitcom and tops everyone’s list of favorite daily soaps. Munmun Dutta has been playing the role of Babita Ji in the show since the very beginning from the year 2008. And the character has not just stayed with everyone but has also found its own following over the years. The actress was recently in the news after reports suggested that she has exited the show after she got involved in the “Bhangi” comment controversy and it had left us fans heartbroken.

Now in an interview with ETimes, Munmun Dutta has finally reacted to these reports and said, “Over the past 2-3 days, few things were falsely reported, which had negative implications on my life. People are saying that I did not report on the sets of the show and it is totally untrue. The truth is that the track in the show did not require my presence”.

She had further added, “Therefore, I was not called for shooting. Production decides the scenes and the next track. I don’t decide that. I am just an individual who goes to work, does her job and comes back. So if I am not required in the scenes, I will obviously not shoot.”

She said she will announce it herself if she ever decides to quit TMKOC and added, “If I plan to quit the show, I will declare it myself because viewers are emotionally attached to my character and they deserve to know the truth than just speculate.”

Stay tuned for more such updates.
