There was a time when Sushmita was part of every project, be it as an actor or performing a special dance number. The actress has taken the most daring steps in her career and personal life whether it was becoming a mother at 25 or taking a break from films.
Sushmita disappeared from the silver screen for almost 10 years and only made a comeback with a thriller web series called ‘Aarya’. The actress has now opened up about taking a long break and not getting roles in the Bollywood industry.
In a recent interview, Sushmita mentioned that the long break helped her set the priorities. The actress said that Bollywood was not giving her what she wanted. “A lot of it was a preconceived notion of my age and my screen age and that I hadn’t worked for ten years,” she said.
Sushmita also stated that in the industry lot of networking helps in getting work and she was reluctant of it. The actress added that maybe she wasn’t putting herself out there and she has never been good at. “I am no good at networking. It did not work for me,” she added.
Meanwhile, Sushmita Sen’s latest release ‘Aarya’ has been receiving a positive response from the audience. The second season of the thriller web series has already been released on Disney plus Hotstar. The series has been directed by Ram Madhvani and also features great actors like Namit Das and Chandrachur in pivotal roles.
