The actor further stated that she will refrain from commenting on the case, “MY STAND… I HAVE NOT COMMENTED YET and will continue to refrain from doing so on this case as it is subjudice, so please stop attributing false quotes on my behalf.” Shilpa wrote.

The Hungama 2 actress had earlier approached the Bombay High Court seeking to restrain media organizations from publishing any ‘incorrect, false, malicious and defamatory content against her on social media or different news portals regarding her husband Raj Kundra’s arrest in porn app case.

The application filed by the actor also demanded the media organizations to pay Rs 25 crore for defaming her image and reputation to sensationalize news and increase their TRP’s and readership. Shilpa in her application further sought from the Bombay HC court to remove alleged defamatory content on her from various platforms and issue an unconditional apology for publishing the same.

However on Saturday, after hearing the actor’s plea, the Bombay High Court has decided to not restrain media as it will have a “chilling effect on the freedom of the press”. The court further said that “Reportage of something based on what police have said is not defamatory,” the court added.
