After Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh has addressed a deepfake video that’s making rounds on social media. The video shows Ranveer criticizing the government, but it’s not genuine. Ranveer Singh took to Twitter to clear things up. He warned his fans, saying, “Beware of deepfakes, friends.” The video in question was from Ranveer’s recent trip to Varanasi for a fashion show by Manish Malhotra. Actress Kriti Sanon also accompanied him on this trip.

Original vs. Fake Video

Initially, in the real video, Ranveer had praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his initiatives. However, in the fake version, he was depicted as criticizing the increasing unemployment under the PM’s governance.

Aamir Khan’s Experience

This isn’t the first time such a thing has happened. Just recently, Mumbai Police registered a complaint against an unknown person for creating a deepfake video of actor Aamir Khan. In the video, Khan was supposedly endorsing a political party, which he clarified was entirely fake. Khan’s office filed the complaint under relevant Indian Penal Code sections and the Information Technology Act.

Aamir Khan’s Response

A spokesperson for Aamir Khan stated that the actor has never endorsed any political party throughout his 35-year career. Khan has always been involved in raising awareness through Election Commission campaigns, but he has never supported any specific party. The spokesperson clarified that the viral video was fake and untrue. Khan reported the matter to various authorities, including filing an FIR with the Cyber Crime Cell of the Mumbai Police.

Deepfake videos are becoming a concerning trend, where technology is manipulated to create false narratives. Both Ranveer Singh and Aamir Khan’s experiences highlight the need for caution and awareness regarding such deceptive content on social media platforms. Individuals and authorities must take appropriate measures to tackle the spread of misinformation and protect the integrity of digital content.
