Actress Patralekhaa, wife of Bollywood star Rajkummar Rao, recently opened up about the persistent pregnancy rumors that have plagued her, revealing the emotional toll they’ve taken. In a candid interview with Galatta India, Patralekhaa expressed her frustration over the constant speculation, which often arises whenever her appearance deviates slightly from the norm.

Reflecting on the rumors, Patralekhaa shared that the baseless assumptions have been particularly bothersome when her stomach appears slightly bloated, leading people to jump to conclusions about her being pregnant.

“I’m a woman, and there are days when I don’t feel my best,” she explained, emphasizing that fluctuations in her appearance are natural and do not warrant the kind of scrutiny she faces. While the rumors initially bothered her, she has since learned to disregard the comments and focus on herself. “Now, I simply look at my photos and move on,” she added.

The actress also addressed the relentless public scrutiny she endures, noting that it extends beyond just pregnancy rumors. According to Patralekhaa, people often criticise her clothing, hairstyle, and overall appearance, regardless of what she does. “I am like, what is this?” she said. “They have a problem with what you wear, what you don’t wear, or whether your hair is done properly or not. I guess that is what comes with it.”

Patralekhaa and Rajkummar Rao tied the knot on November 15, 2021, after years of dating. The couple has worked together on several projects, including the critically acclaimed film Citylights and the web series Bose: Dead/Alive.

On the professional front, Patralekhaa will next be seen in Anubhav Sinha’s IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, premiering on Netflix on August 29, 2024. The series, featuring an ensemble cast including Dia Mirza, Kumud Mishra, and Arvind Swamy, recounts the harrowing hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight IC 814 in 1999.

Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao is enjoying the success of Stree 2, which has performed strongly at the box office since its release on August 15. The film, a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, features Rao alongside Shraddha Kapoor and introduces a new threat to Chanderi.
