Popular singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, affectionately known as KK, died on May 31 at the age of 53, just hours after performing live at a concert in Kolkata, West Bengal. According to reports, the singer became ill while performing at Kolkata’s Nazrul Manch.
According to the post-mortem report, KK died of a cardiac arrest. KK’s first song since his death was released a few days ago, and it’s from Pankaj Tripathi’s Sherdil – The Pilibhit Saga. Dhoop Paani Bahne De is the song’s title. Recently, in an interview with India Today, Bollywood star Pankaj Tripathi remembered the late singer and called him one of his favourites. He also expressed regret for not being able to meet him while the song was being recorded.
The actor Pankaj Tripathi mentioned: “I so wanted to meet KK during the recording of the song. When the recording happened, I was out of town. So, when I saw the picture of KK with Gulzar Saab, the director Srijit Mukherji, and Shantanu da in the studio, I had decided the day Sherdil’s trial screening happens, I will meet KK and have a conversation with him. I have been a huge fan of KK, he is one of my favourite singers. The song that he sang is a very soulful and wonderful track. However, my wish of meeting him remains unfulfilled.”
Sherdil-The Pilibhit Saga is directed by Srijit Mukherji and is based on true events. It tells a fascinating story about the negative effects of urbanization, man-animal conflicts, and poverty in a village on the outskirts of a forest, culminating in a strange practice. T-Series, Reliance Entertainment, and Match Cut Productions are collaborating to make the film.
Neeraj Kabi and Sayani Gupta co-star alongside Pankaj Tripathi in Sherdil – The Pilibhit Saga. From June 24, the family entertainer will be released on the big screen. On the work front, Pankaj Tripathi was last seen in the film 83 and he will next be seen in Bachchhan Paandey and OMG 2 – Oh My God.
