Navya Naveli Nanda, granddaughter of Amitabh Bachchan, recently addressed the online trolling she faced after her admission to IIM-Ahmedabad. Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Navya shared her thoughts on managing negativity and social media feedback.
During the interview, Navya opened up about the backlash she encountered following the news of her enrollment in the prestigious institution. “Social media has been a great platform because it’s given a lot of people a voice, a lot of people who previously might not have that kind of reach,” she said. “India has some of the finest institutions in the world, and being a part of IIM-Ahmedabad is incredible. I feel fortunate to receive higher education under the guidance of some of the finest professors in the world.”
Despite the negative comments, Navya remains unfazed. She expressed that being in the public eye comes with its own set of challenges, but her focus remains on personal growth and her future goals. “If I consider myself to be working for people, I don’t think I can be offended by what they say. It’s essential for me to look at feedback; it will only make me a better person, a better entrepreneur, and a better Indian.”
Acknowledging her privileged background, Navya emphasised that while people may comment on her life, she chooses to stay focused on her path. “I don’t give a lot of thought to what people say negatively; I use it to do the best I can do in my journey,” she added.
Following her admission announcement, Navya shared an Instagram post expressing her excitement. The post read, “Dreams do come true !!!!!! Home for the next 2 years… with the best people & faculty! BPGP MBA Class of 2026.”
While some users questioned the legitimacy of her enrollment, many of her supporters came to her defense on social media.
