Bollywood actor John Abraham recently had a heated exchange at the trailer launch of his upcoming film, Vedaa. The incident occurred when a journalist suggested that Abraham’s films are becoming repetitive, leading the actor to defend his latest project passionately.

During the press conference, Abraham was asked to try something new, a question that visibly irritated him. He retorted, “Aapne film dekhi hai? Can I call out bad questions and idiots?” (“Have you seen the film? Can I call out bad questions and idiots?”)

When the journalist pointed out that the trailer appeared to showcase the same kind of action films he is known for, Abraham was quick to clarify. “Nahi main to aapko sirf directly kehna chahta hoon ki ye film alag hai. Mere hisab se to it is a very intense performance jo maine kara hai. Of course aapne film dekhi nahi hai,” he said. (“No, I just want to tell you that this is a different kind of movie. According to me, it is a very intense performance of mine. Of course, you haven’t watched the film yet.”)

After cooling down, Abraham lightened the mood by jokingly adding, “Film dekhiye aap, uske baad I’m all yours, whatever you say. But if you are wrong, I’m going to turn around and tear you apart.” (“See the film first, after that I’m all yours, whatever you say.”)

Vedaa tells the story of a young girl, played by Sharvari, who battles oppression and seeks social justice against tyrannical forces exploiting caste and untouchability. The action-thriller, directed by Nikkhil Advani, also stars Abhishek Banerjee as the antagonist and features cameo appearances by Tamannaah Bhatia and Mouni Roy.

Vedaa is set to release on August 15, 2024.
