A recent advertisement starring Aamir Khan and Kiara Advani for a bank has not been well received by the audience. The ad opens up with a young couple played by Kiara Advani and Aamir Khan in a decorated car. The groom then asks the bride why she didn’t cry during her bidaai, she then replies he also didn’t cry. Then the couple reaches the girl’s home where her family is waiting to welcome the groom home. in Hindu traditions, a girl has to leave her home and shift to the groom’s house after marriage.

The ad tried to break the traditional stereotypes but received a backlash from a section of the audience. Director Vivek Agnihotri also took to his Twitter handle and brutally trolled the ad. He asked the makers when the Banks have become responsible for changing social & religious traditions. He then adds that the respective bank should focus on changing the corrupt banking system. He then adds, “Aisi bakwaas karte hain fir kehte hain Hindus are trolling. Idiots.”

After the director’s tweet, a lot of netizens took to his comment section and supported his statement. “You are absolutely right sir,” wrote one user, “Privatisation will make us a consumer without moral values. Hum Kaha Ja Rahe Hain.,” wrote another user. “Au bank ne apna beda gark karaliya,” commented another user. Some even pointed out the casting of the ad and said, “muje to inki shadi hi manzoor nhi hai,” wrote one user.

Vivek Agnihotri had earlier called out Laal Singh Chadha for the lack of sincerity by Aamir Khan.
