Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar captivated the world with their grandeur. The three-day extravaganza featured Rihanna’s comeback concert after seven years, alongside captivating performances by Bollywood luminaries like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, as well as international stars such as Diljit Dosanjh and Akon. The event, attended by over 1500 guests, unfolded in Gujarat with splendor.
In an exclusive interview with Vogue, Radhika shared insights into their choice of Jamnagar as the venue, citing a deep connection to their roots and family heritage. She emphasized the significance of Jamnagar in their lives, being the place where Anant dedicates much of his time, away from urban chaos. Additionally, Jamnagar holds sentimental value as it’s where Anant’s grandmother, Kokilaben, was born, and it’s also home to their animal sanctuary, Vantara, described by Radhika as their “land of duty.”
The meticulously planned festivities, orchestrated in just three months by Anant’s mother, Nita Ambani, and designer Manish Malhotra, featured opulent attire. Radhika disclosed that one of her outfits took six months to create, with a dupatta painstakingly crafted by Manish Malhotra. She further revealed that her veil for another ensemble was woven in Banaras with authentic gold threads. The couple ceremoniously signed their wedding papers amidst the gaze of their 1500 guests, setting the stage for their forthcoming nuptials in July.
The three-day affair attracted global luminaries like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, underlining its international significance. Even after the star-studded celebrations concluded, the Ambanis continued their generosity by hosting a concert for the people of Jamnagar. This additional event featured stellar performances by Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Arijit Singh, among others, further enriching the jubilant atmosphere of the occasion.
