Recently, Amit Shah, the Home Minister, attended a special screening of Akshay Kumar’s film Samrat Prithviraj. The actor Akshay Kumar has expressed it as a “rare honour.” Prominent actor Akshay Kumar recently talked about hosting a special screening of his upcoming film, Samrat Prithviraj, for home minister Amit Shah, calling it a “rare honour.”

The story revolves around the First Battle of Tarain, which took place in the 12th century between the ruler and Muhammad Ghori of the Ghurid dynasty, and Akshay plays Prithviraj Chauhan of the Chauhan dynasty. After seeing Samrat Prithviraj with his family and Akshay Kumar in New Delhi on Wednesday, June 1, Amit Shah was all praise for the film. Later, Akshay posted a picture of himself and Amit Shah on Instagram, saying that seeing the minister praising the period drama was emotional for him.

In the end, Akshay Kumar wrote, “A very emotional and proud evening for me.” Had the rare honour of having Hon’ble Home Minister Amit Shah ji watch #SamratPrithviraj.” He added in Hindi, “Unki hamari film ke liye prashansa ne hamari mehnat safal kar di (His appreciation for our film has made our hard successful)!” Ever so thankful, “and concluded it with a folded-hands emoji.

Amit Shah said at the screening that he cherished watching the film as a history student and that it was the first time he had seen a film in the theater with his family in 13 years. He also stated that the film portrayed the Indian culture of women’s empowerment and respect. Akshay had previously been asked if he would host a special screening of Samrat Prithviraj for Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the launch of the first trailer.  “Main kya dikhana chahunga, unko dekhna hoga wo apne aap hi dekh lenge, main kaun hota hu dikhane waala,” he replied. Samrat Prithviraj, which was previously titled Prithviraj, will be released in theaters on June 3 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Sanjay Dutt, Manav Vij, Sonu Sood, and Ashutosh Rana also star in the film.
