Be it her fans or the people of the film industry, she has always been praised for her inspiring and realistic portrayal of every role she decided to play.
So the news of the TV celebrity turned actor’s marriage did not only leave the whole industry ecstatic, but her fans extremely optimistic. Marrying at the age of 38, Mona became the live example of ‘there is no right age for love and marriage’. Tying the knot with her south Indian investment banker cum boyfriend Shyam Rajgopalan on December 27, 2019 in an intimate traditional Punjabi wedding, Mona entered the new decade as a new and happy bride. She even posted an adorable selfie with her husband on her social media handle to greet all her fans and followers on New Year’s Eve.
But that is not all that there is to say about the newly married couple. On 13th January, 2020, the couple celebrated their first Lohri together with their families and close friends. From her heavily embroidered orange-peach salwar-kurta paired with a stunning set of red chooda, to the whole traditional Punjabi setup and happy smiles, everything seemed beyond perfect. Even when she shared her photos through her Instagram handle, people could see the contentment and happiness on her face and on those around her. Where one post comprised of all those who are close to her, the second post had short boomerangs and videos of the celebration and fun that took place at the time of celebration. From making weird faces to performing hilarious dance steps, Mona had everyone around her join the fun.
As known to all, the duo was dating secretly before tying the knot, and thus decided to have only families and close friends for the wedding ceremony. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Mona’s best friend and Television actress, Rakshanda Khan opened about her marriage and exclaimed “It was beautiful! From the bride to the decor, everything was just gorgeous.” When Rakshanda was asked, if Mona had wedding jitters, she had denied and had said, “Do moms look like the kind of person who will get jitters!? Plus, I think when you have waited such a long time to walk down the aisle to your Prince Charming it’s more like let’s get on with it.”
