Vicky Kaushal spoke candidly about his actress wife Katrina Kaif in an interview with Film Companion and praised her commitment and perseverance. Vicky lavished admiration on his wife, saying that, like veteran actors Hema Malini and Rekha, Katrina had established her own era. The devoted husband uttered: “Knowing her, not everything was going as per her, she has really hustled and worked hard and aced it. I don’t want to cross a line on her behalf but I truly feel that like there was Hema Malini’s era, Rekha’s era and I truly feel she has achieved that sort of milestone on her merit.”

Vicky Kaushal went on to say that Katrina is a highly emotional person on the outside but very sensible when it comes to work. The devoted husband also noted that he sought input from his wife regarding his performance and that he valued her judgment because it was based on her knowledge and experience. Vicky described how Katrina applies her experience from her successful two-decade Bollywood career:
“She will say the fact as a fact, especially when it comes to my performance or my trailer. When I show her my dance rehearsal, then I am dead. I know this is coming from all that experience, and it helps me so much. When it comes to making decisions, when I am wondering ye karu ya wo karu… she will really state things which I know are coming from so much experience of highs and lows, of right decisions and mistakes. When she has an opinion, I know I have to consider it seriously because it is very objective. That wisdom and practicality is something very commendable.”

Vicky Kaushal also said in the interview how his mother, Veena Kaushal, constantly keeps him grounded. The actor recalled how his mother cruelly teased him when he was young because she never took his fame seriously. And he said: “Mujhe yaad hai ek baar in 2018 or ‘19, one of the leading publications wrote a list of ‘Most Desirable’ and mera naam aa gaya tha usmei. I had come back from a trip. Doston ke sath khoob khaya, masti ki ye wo toh. And I came back, I’m just lying down, my shirt is open and my mom is like, ‘Aa dekh lo, ye hai most desirable’. Trolling jab ghar pe hoti hai na aap shant rehte ho. The Internet can’t shape me.”
