Shahid began his acting career in the 1990s as a background dancer in a few films, the son of renowned actor Pankaj Kapur and dancer Neelima Azeem. He made his acting debut in the romantic comedy Ishq Vishk in 2003, and a few additional mainstream films came after. Films like Jab We Met, Kaminey, Udta Punjab, Haider, Padmaavat, and Kabir Singh gave the dashing actor the opportunity to showcase his acting prowess.
