Earlier this year, actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu launched her health-focused podcast, “Take 20.” Recently, she shared a promotional clip for a new episode discussing ‘carbohydrate metabolism’ on Instagram.
This post drew comments from followers, including one critical remark about her past endorsements of brands like ice creams and cold drinks. Samantha addressed this criticism, revealing a shift in her approach to brand associations.
In response to a comment accusing her of creating drama and endorsing various products indiscriminately, Samantha acknowledged her past mistakes but emphasised her current commitment to more mindful endorsements.
She replied, “I have made mistakes in the past when I didn’t know any better, but I have since stopped accepting many, many endorsements. I believe in practising what I preach. God bless.”
Supporters quickly defended the actor, with one user pointing out that her advice benefits many of her followers and commending her for focusing on health-related content.
Another user criticised the negative commenter for not exercising personal judgment regarding advertisements.
Samantha took a break from acting after being diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune disease. She last appeared on-screen in the 2023 films “Shaakunthalam” alongside Dev Mohan and “Kushi” with Vijay Deverakonda. Samantha first shared her myositis diagnosis in 2022.
Looking ahead, Samantha is set to appear in the upcoming web series “Citadel: Honey Bunny” with Varun Dhawan, the Indian adaptation of the Russo brothers’ series “Citadel,” originally starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden.
Additionally, she will star in “Bangaram,” a film she announced on her birthday, which marks her debut as a producer.
