Actor Ranvir Shorey, who recently secured third place on the popular reality show Bigg Boss OTT 3, has made headlines again, this time for sharing personal details about his past. In a candid interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Shorey revealed the tension and altercations he faced with Pooja Bhatt’s family following their breakup.
Shorey did not hold back as he recounted his strained relationship with Pooja Bhatt’s brother. He disclosed that after their breakup, he was involved in a conflict where he felt manipulated by, Pooja’s father, who he alleges spread false rumors about him. Shorey claimed that Mahesh Bhatt planted stories in the media, portraying him as an alcoholic and abusive person, which he insists were completely untrue.
Recalling the incident, Shorey said, “At the time we had a conflict, I felt that the respect I had for him, he used that manipulatively. When the fight happened, he told my father, ‘Ok, we will rest the matter here, whatever the fight happened between the kids.’ The next day, he proceeded to print utter lies about me, and planted false stories in the media against me, painting me as an alcoholic abusive person. All lies!” He further alleged that it was Pooja’s brother who assaulted him and expressed disappointment that Mahesh Bhatt did not intervene to prevent such actions. Shorey added, “These are all 25-year-old stories, I don’t want to get into them now.”
Shorey’s career in Bollywood began with his debut in Shashilal Nair’s film Ek Choti Si Love Story, where he starred alongside Manisha Koirala. Over the years, he has appeared in several notable films, including Khosla Ka Ghosla, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, and Tiger 3.
Looking ahead, Shorey is set to star in an upcoming crime-thriller series Shekhar Home, inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes. The series, directed by Rohan Sippy and Srijit Mukherjee, also features Kay Kay Menon, Kirti Kulhari, Rasika Duggal, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya, and will premiere on August 14 on Jio Cinema.
