Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone graced the season eight premiere of Karan Johar’s “Koffee with Karan.” During the episode, the couple shared their romantic journey, with Ranveer narrating an almost cinematic tale about their first meeting. The two met at Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s residence for Ramleela’s reading. However, sharp-eyed netizens were quick to notice intriguing similarities. The description of his meeting Anushka Sharma was similar to meeting Deepika Padukone.

Ranveer Singh Met Deepika and Anushka

Ranveer’s recollection of Deepika’s first impression as “saadgi ki moorat” and how she appeared “angelic” sounded similar. He added the opening of the bulky door, that stirred déjà vu among those who remembered his account of meeting Anushka Sharma. This was a similar grand entrance, with her hair flowing, at YRF studios. Notably, Ranveer and Anushka were rumoured to be dating during their appearance on the third season of “Koffee with Karan” in 2011. They were co-stars in Ranveer’s debut film, “Band Baaja Baaraat,” and later collaborated in films like “Ladies vs Ricky Bahl” and “Dil Dhadakne Do.”

Netizens were quick to comment on the resemblance. One person humorously suggested, “Bro he elevated DP also in the same way ?,” and another stating, “Ranveer bhai thodi toh script change kar leta ???.”

On a recent episode of Karan’s show, Ranveer shared that he knew Deepika was “the one” just six months after they met. He also revealed that they were secretly engaged for three years before getting married. Their engagement took place on a secluded beach in the Maldives, and Deepika disclosed that before the proposal, they were not exclusively dating and were seeing other people. She explained, “Until he proposed to me, there was no commitment as such.”
