Ranbir Kapoor spoke candidly about winning honours with his wife Alia Bhatt at the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards event while promoting his forthcoming movie, “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,” in Chandigarh. When the Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar team was recently seen in Chandigarh promoting their movie, Ranbir stole the show with his comments about his wife, Alia Bhatt, winning the Best Actress Award at the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards ceremony.
Ranbir Kapoor was asked about his feelings after his wife, Alia Bhatt, won the Best Actress Award at the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards for her outstanding performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi during the promotion of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. When asked about it, Ranbir said he was quite pleased that Alia received the honour since he felt that she deserved it. Alia’s portrayal as “Gangubai Kathiawadi ” is one of the best ever in Indian cinema, the adoring husband further remarked. He said: “I am really excited that Alia won the award because she was truly deserving in her performance in Gangubai (Gangubai Kathiawadi). I think that was one of the finest performances ever.”
Ranbir Kapoor discussed receiving the Best Actor Award for his role as Shiva in Brahmastra: Part One in the same interview with a reporter. The actor did, however, acknowledge that he didn’t feel completely deserving of the honour because, in his opinion, his performance in the movie wasn’t particularly noteworthy or deserving of such a prestigious honour. Ranbir said that receiving the coveted honour from the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards jury had been a major motivator for him. He thanked them for it. In his words:
“Sabse pehle toh I am very grateful ki mujhe ye sammaan diya. I don’t think I fully deserved it for Brahmastra. Vo bahut badi koi acting performance nahi thi. But jab bhi koi award aata hain you feel great. Par acha hain jab koi award milta hain toh ek thapki milti hain ki you know aapne theek-thaak kaam kiya.” Click here to watch the video.
When the couple made a special announcement about the naming of their first child on November 24, 2022. It was visible that Ranbir and Alia were holding their newborn child in their arms. It was Ranbir’s favourite football team, Barcelona, whose jersey was hanging on a wall in the backdrop, while the adoring parents were completely obscured.
On the professional front, Ranbir Kapoor will be next seen in the films, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and Animal.
