In a chance encounter that has taken social media by storm, TikToker Zane Thadani met filmmaker Karan Johar on the streets of London and humorously referred to him as ‘uncle.’ The interaction, captured in a video now shared widely, shows Thadani’s excitement and Johar’s amused reaction.

Thadani, who boasts 15.5K followers on TikTok and 5K on Instagram, spotted Johar standing with women and children near a London street. Clearly star-struck, Thadani can be heard in the video exclaiming, “Oh my God, oh my God, guys, I just met Karan Johar man! What do I call him? KJo? Karan? Karan Johar? Mr. Johar? Mr. Karan?”

Gathering his courage, Thadani approached Johar, who was dressed in blue. As Johar posed and pouted for the camera, Thadani laughed, covered his face, and tapped Johar’s shoulder, saying, “Hi, uncle!” Johar, visibly surprised, responded, “Uncle? Did you just call me uncle,” before walking away.

The undated video was later reshared by Johar on his Instagram Stories with the caption, “Was happy meeting you Zane.” Thadani also posted the video on his own Instagram, captioning it, “Thanks for the collab uncle…” The video’s text overlay read, “I met Karan Johar in London.”

Social media reactions were swift and varied. One fan commented, “He (Karan Johar) hates being called KJo,” while another suggested, “You can call him guru maa (teacher)…” Another comment speculated, “I thought he’s (Karan) gonna say ‘Hi beta (son).’” The humorous interaction left many fans in stitches, with comments like, “Oh my God (laughing emojis).”

Work Front

Karan Johar is currently promoting his latest film as a producer, Bad Newz, featuring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, Ammy Virk, and Neha Dhupia, with cameos by Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma. Directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Amritpal Singh Bindra, Apoorva Mehta, and Johar himself, the film continues to generate buzz ahead of its release.
