Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has candidly shared her views on marriage, revealing the challenges she has faced in her personal life due to her public image. Speaking on the latest episode of the popular talk show Aap Ki Adalat, Kangana discussed how the negative publicity surrounding her has impacted her ability to settle down.
During the show, Kangana recounted how her prospective in-laws once “ran away” after she received a police summons while they were visiting. This incident, she said, exemplifies the hurdles she has encountered whenever she has tried to take a relationship forward.
When an audience member asked Kangana about her views on marriage and whether she would consider marrying a politician or an actor, the actress responded with a smile and a blush. “Kya kahu main ab iss bare mein? Dekhiye, meri shadi ko leke bohut ache khyal hai… mujhe lagta hai ki har ek ko companion ki zaroorat hoti hai (Now, what do I say about this? My views on marriage are very positive, I feel everyone should have a companion),” Kangana said.
Elaborating on her thoughts, she continued, “Mujhe lagta hai bache hone chahiye, lekin ab logo ne itna badnam kar rakha hai, meri shaadi nahi hone dete hai; mere court cases itne aa jate hai jab bhi kisi ke saath meri baat banni shuru hoti hai, toh police ghar pe aa jati hai, utha ke le jati hai, summons aa jate hai. Ek baar toh hone wale saas-sasur bhi mere ghar pe the aur woh summon aa gaye, toh phir woh bhag gaye. Ye bhi ek side effect hai. Nahi, mazak kar rahi hoon (I feel people should have kids too, but I have been made so infamous that I am not able to marry; whenever I am close to making things work with someone, the police land at my home or I receive summons. Once, my to-be in-laws were visiting, and they ran away after seeing me being summoned. This is also a side-effect of everything I face. No, I’m just joking),” she added with a laugh.
On the professional front, Kangana is preparing for the release of her upcoming film Emergency. Directed by Kangana herself, the film features her as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and includes a star-studded cast such as Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. The film is set during the tumultuous period of the Emergency in India in 1975.
