Actor Jayam Ravi, known for his role in Thani Oruvan, has been in the spotlight recently due to the announcement of his divorce from wife Aarti. Amid ongoing speculation about his personal life and reports of a new relationship with singer and spiritual healer Kenishaa Francis, the actor addressed the media on Saturday following the audio launch of his upcoming Diwali release, Brother. In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Jayam Ravi provided further insight into the divorce and rumors surrounding his personal life.

When asked about his relationship with Aarti, who reportedly opposed the divorce, Jayam Ravi questioned her intentions, saying, “I want a divorce. If Aarti wanted to reconcile, why hasn’t she reached out? Why has she not responded to the two legal notices I sent? Does this behavior suggest she wants reconciliation?” He also dismissed rumors about a girlfriend, indicating that such speculation would not exist if reconciliation were truly the goal.

Addressing the rumors linking him to Kenishaa Francis, Jayam Ravi expressed frustration over the unnecessary involvement of a third party. “How did these rumors start? Why should anyone drag Kenishaa into this issue? We are planning to start a spiritual healing center together, and my divorce has nothing to do with her. These rumors reflect badly on me and our families,” the actor remarked, denying any romantic connection.

On the subject of his children, Aarav and Ayaan, Jayam Ravi confirmed his desire for custody, stating, “Yes, I want custody of my children. I am ready to fight this divorce in court for as long as it takes. My future is my children; they are my happiness.” He also revealed his dream of producing a film with his son Aarav, adding that their collaboration in Tik Tik Tik was the happiest moment of his life.

Despite the media spotlight on Aarti and her mother, Sujata Vijayakumar, Jayam Ravi has chosen not to comment on their involvement in the divorce. He emphasised the importance of privacy and legal resolution, noting, “The case is in court, and the first hearing is in October. There’s no going back – I want a divorce.”

Professionally, Jayam Ravi has three completed films awaiting release: Brother, Genie, and Kadhalika Neramilai. He is also reviewing new scripts, vowing to be more selective in his future projects.
