‘Jab Banna Hoga, Banegi’: Shraddha Kapoor Reveals Marriage Plans Amid Stree 2 Promotion

Fans eagerly awaiting the release of “Stree 2” have much to celebrate as producer Dinesh Vijan confirmed on Thursday that the next installment in his successful horror-comedy franchise is completed and will hit cinemas sooner than expected. The original “Stree,” which debuted in 2018, captivated audiences with its tale of a small town haunted by a female ghost, becoming both a critical and commercial success. This prompted Vijan to expand into a horror-comedy universe that includes films such as “Roohi,” “Bhediya,” and “Munjya.”

At the trailer launch for “Stree 2,” Vijan outlined his ambitious plans for the movie universe. He highlighted the recent release of “Munjya,” based on Marathi folklore, which performed well at the box office despite featuring relatively new actors Abhay Verma and Sharvari.

“‘Stree 2’ is like the mothership,” Vijan explained. “It answers many questions raised by the first film and reveals connections within the universe. Following ‘Stree 2,’ we will introduce ‘Thama,’ which we’ll discuss later. We’ve already written ‘Stree 3,’ so there will be a shorter gap between releases,” Vijan told reporters.

The sequel, scheduled for release on August 15, will see the return of the original cast, including Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. The characters, who solved the mystery of the female ghost in the first film, will now face a new terror in the form of Sarkata, a ghost with only a head. Additionally, “Stree 2” will explore the enigmatic character played by Shraddha Kapoor.

Vijan, head of Maddock Films, assured that “Stree 2” would be their most entertaining film yet. “It is bigger, madder, crazier. The trailer shows only 10 percent of the visual effects. We want to save the full experience for the theater. This is Maddock’s most ‘paisa vasool’ film, running for two hours and 20 minutes… We’re confident it will leave audiences thrilled,” he stated.

At the event, Shraddha Kapoor, adorned in a red saree, deftly dodged questions about her marriage plans by quoting a popular line from the movie: “Woh Stree hai, use jab dulhan banna hai woh banegi (She is Stree, she will get married whenever she wants).”
