Content creator Sidra Hafeez has sparked controversy after posting a video on Instagram that imitates Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai. The video features Sidra mimicking Aishwarya’s iconic looks for events and even includes a child portraying Aishwarya’s daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan.

The clip opens with Sidra adjusting her hair, captioned, “POV: Aishwarya Rai getting ready for an event,” accompanied by laughing emojis. She continues with a middle-parted hairstyle and applies lipstick, with the text asking, “Red or dark pink lipstick?” Sidra then dons a traditional suit and dupatta, humorously captioned “Funny outfit.” The video escalates as she pretends to forget something important, showcasing a child mimicking Aaradhya’s demeanour, with the playful addition of “Aradhayaaa” in the text.

The post, which Sidra captioned, “Blue eyes and Abhishek is missing,” has drawn significant criticism from Aishwarya Rai’s fans. Many expressed their discontent in the comments, with one user remarking, “The audacity to make fun of The Aishwarya Rai. These people are not content creators. They should be limited to TikTok only.” Another commenter added, “Stop doing that… she is our pride! Being a mother, you are insulting other mothers.”

Fans also defended Aishwarya’s parenting, highlighting her efforts to raise Aaradhya respectfully. “It takes 30 seconds to make fun of someone but years to build a successful career like them,” noted one user, reinforcing the notion that Sidra’s portrayal lacked the grace and elegance associated with Aishwarya.

In response to the backlash, Sidra clarified in a pinned comment that the video was intended as a joke. “For those who got the humour in this video… I have so much respect for you,” she wrote.

Aishwarya Rai, who is often seen with her daughter at various high-profile events, recently addressed why Aaradhya accompanies her so frequently. At the IIFA event, she stated simply, “She’s my daughter. She goes with me everywhere,” underscoring their close bond.

As social media continues to amplify opinions on content creation and respect for public figures, Sidra’s video serves as a focal point for discussions about humour, celebrity culture, and the responsibilities of content creators.
