Speaking with Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo during a lie detector test staged by Vanity Fair, the singer and actress was candid about her beauty routine, insisting she has always been transparent about it.
During the interview, Erivo questioned Grande directly about whether she had undergone any procedures to enhance her appearance for popularity, to which Grande replied with a straightforward, “No.” When asked about rumors of breast surgery, she responded, “No, can you imagine?” As for a face-lift, Grande humorously said, “No, not yet. I’m open.”
The lie detector results confirmed her honesty, prompting Grande to playfully hit back at her critics. “This is the best day of my life. Take that, YouTube people!” she exclaimed, addressing the frequent online speculations about her appearance. She went on to express her views on beauty standards, saying, “Whatever makes women, men, non-gender conforming people feel beautiful should be allowed. Why do we care?”
This isn’t the first time the pop star has spoken out about such rumours. In 2023, Grande became emotional in a Vogue make-up video, addressing the scrutiny she’s faced regarding her looks. She admitted to previously using lip fillers but has since embraced a more natural approach to beauty.
Ariana’s candid response to plastic surgery speculation comes at a time when fans are eagerly anticipating her role in Wicked: Part 1, directed by Jon M. Chu. The film, based on the popular Broadway musical, has an ensemble cast including Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, and Peter Dinklage, among others. Grande will play the iconic role of Glinda the Good Witch.
