Akshay Kumar Reveals Why He Skipped ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ Sequels: Here’s The Truth!!!

In ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ 2 and 3, Akshay Kumar is candid about why he didn’t portray his legendary role. Akshay Kumar’s noteworthy roles in action and comic moves have earned him recognition. In Priyadarshan’s horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa, he portrayed the lead character of a doctor who had to track down the actual ghost of the palace.

“Khiladi Kumar” is well-known for his comedic and action films. But fans didn’t see Akshay in either of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa sequels. They missed his appearance in a sadhu attire of red and orange, holding two bags, and chasing people down to make them laugh. The actor has now disclosed the reason behind his absence from the film’s sequels.

Akshay Kumar reveals why he was not in Bhool Bhulaiyaa sequels

Akshay discussed the rationale behind leaving the Bhool Bhulaiyaa business. Fans fell in love with him for his iconic portrayal of “Dr. Adi Srivastav” in the movie. In a recent interview with the actor on Pinkvilla, a fan asked why he didn’t watch Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3 because Akshay wasn’t present. Akshay responded as follows: “Beta, mujhey nikaal diya tha.That’s it.”

In Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3, Kartik Aaryan played “Rooh Baba” and took Akshay’s place. Fans missed Akshay, who brought comedy to the film that gently explored the idea of taboos related to mental health, even though both films did well at the box office. The genre-specific plots of the psychological comedy drama’s sequels changed. The actor talked candidly about taking Akshay’s place in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. He stated:

“I have always been a huge fan of Akshay. I don’t see myself on the same level as him. I’ve watched him since I was a child, so it feels a bit strange to be compared to him.”

Director, Priyadarshan said how the Hindi film got more love than the Malayalam movie

In a Rediff interview, Priyadarshan stated that the Hindi film had superior style. In his own words: “In Malayalam, we did not have the budget to shoot in such grandeur. In Hindi, we had. I could use all possible technical advantages the film needed.”

Akshay Kumar’s “Hera Pheri 3” update

Akshay, after explaining why he couldn’t do Bhool Bhulaiyaa sequels, gave an update on his highly anticipated film, Hera Pheri 3. He revealed that he was even holding off on starting Hera Pheri 3. He would begin filming in 2025, if all went according to plan. Akshay added:

 

“When we started Hera Pheri, we didn’t know it would go ahead to become such a cult. Even when I saw the film, I didn’t understand. Yes, it was funny, but none of us expected the characters of Babu Bhaiya, Raju, and Shyam to become a cult.”

Further, Akshay Kumar praised his co-star Paresh Rawal, saying that he was a great comedian. Akshay recalled that while they had a great time filming Hera Pheri, some things were not allowed to be expressed on camera. The legendary actor and the actor are now filming Bhoot Bangla.
