‘Worse Than Indians…’: Kangana Ranaut Reacts On ‘Misogynistic’ Posts About US V-P Kamala Harris

In a bold move, actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has publicly voiced her support for American politician Kamala Harris, following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race and his endorsement of Harris. The endorsement has spurred a slew of misogynistic memes targeting Harris, which Ranaut was quick to condemn.

Kangana took to Instagram to address the issue, sharing a meme that compared Kamala Harris to a ‘call girl’ and called on people to ‘remember this scandal well.’ Although she does not support the Democratic party, Ranaut vehemently opposed the sexist attacks, criticizing the regressive nature of the memes.

“Since Biden has endorsed Harris for POTUS, social media is full of such memes. I don’t support Democrats, but it’s amusing that even in America, an elderly woman politician who has been Attorney General of California has to face sexism to this extent. Honestly, these Americans think they are so modern and all, but they are so regressive, worse than Indians to be honest. Shame,” Kangana opined.

Kangana Ranaut Remarks On Sonu Sood

In recent news, Kangana also made headlines for her remarks about fellow actor Sonu Sood. Sood faced backlash on social media after defending a food vendor who spat on a customer’s food. Kangana took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her criticism, posting a sarcastic comment: “Next you know Sonu ji will direct his own Ramayana based on his own personal findings about God and religion. Wah kya baat hai, Bollywood se ek aur Ramayana.”

Sood’s controversial defense involved comparing the act of spitting on food to Lord Ram eating Shabri’s berries, describing it as an act of ‘humanity’ and stressing that ‘humanity must remain intact.’

On the professional front, Kangana has been elected as the Member of Parliament for Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. She recently announced a new release date for her upcoming film, “Emergency,” where she portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film, set to release on September 7 this year, is backed by Zee Studios and produced by Renu Pitti and Kangana herself. The screenplay and dialogues are by Ritesh Shah, with music by Sanchit Balhara.
