Actor Kartik Aaryan recently shared insights into his life in a candid conversation with The Indian Express, revealing the relentless nature of his work schedule and the toll it has taken on his personal well-being. Kartik described himself as a “workaholic x 100” and confessed that he often feels burnt out. The actor, known for his roles in hit films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, admitted that his unwavering drive has kept him in what he calls “a race with no finish line.”

Reflecting on his early days, Kartik recalled his debut in Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011), a project that marked the beginning of his journey but one he felt he didn’t fully appreciate at the time. “When I didn’t have work, all I thought about was getting my first film,” he shared, adding that the rush to secure his debut meant he didn’t pause to savour the moment. His career gained new momentum with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety in 2018, a turning point he regards as a “re-launch” of sorts, yet he’s hardly had a moment to step back and reflect. “Even till today, I haven’t gotten the chance to relax and think, I’ve come this far…I am in a race with no finish line,” he said.

The toll of Kartik’s career pace appears to be catching up with him. “I don’t think I am able to give myself that personal time because I am always thinking about work, the way forward, what went wrong, what is right,” Kartik admitted, adding, “I am getting a bit burnt out with this… just constantly working. But the thing is, I don’t know anything else but work.”

Recalling his first moments of fame, Kartik mentioned the thrill he felt when a fan asked for a selfie, an experience that confirmed his rising popularity. At one point, he would even walk through malls deliberately in hopes of being recognized. However, he emphasizes that these interactions are part of the job rather than an exercise in vanity.

On the film front, Kartik is set to return with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, where he’ll share the screen with Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, and Triptii Dimri. Directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar, the film promises to continue the franchise’s signature blend of horror and comedy, with a theatrical release slated for November 1. Fans eagerly await Kartik’s performance, though the actor’s own journey appears marked by the tension between ambition and self-care.
