Triptii Dimri recently shared her experience dealing with criticism after the release of her film Animal. In an interview with Ranveer Allahabadia on his YouTube channel, the actress revealed that she was overwhelmed by the negative comments, which marked the first time she faced such backlash in her career.
Reflecting on the mixed responses to Animal, Triptii noted, “Pre-Animal, there was no criticism. Post the film, there has been a lot of criticism, but I think that is the side effect of being mainstream. Overall, I am happy because I am getting to work with important people. But initially, it was difficult.” She explained that during her earlier projects, like Bulbbul and Qala, she received only positive feedback. “I’d read my comments and think, ‘People are only writing good things; there’s no problem in life.’ But cut to Animal, I read all the comments and for a month, I couldn’t understand what was happening. Half of the world was celebrating me, and the other half was trying to put me down. It was a difficult month for me, as I focused more on the negative than the positive.”
Triptii admitted that the harsh comments affected her deeply, stating, “I cried a lot after Animal, for at least two to three days. I was not used to this at all. This happened all of a sudden, and I never expected I would face criticism of this magnitude. People were writing rubbish, and you know how nasty they can get.” She sought comfort from her sister, who encouraged her to own her accomplishments: “You know what you’ve done; you’ve achieved what you have achieved.”
The actress described herself as sensitive, saying, “If I have a fight with someone, I go into my shell.” She found it challenging to navigate the negativity while continuing to work. “There was no time to sit down and process everything,” she added.
