Since he was charged with abetting Jiah Khan’s suicide, Sooraj Pancholi, the son of Zarina Wahab and Aditya Pancholi, has been in the news frequently. Jiah Khan was discovered dead at her house on June 3rd, 2013, by her mother Rabia Khan. Jiah had left a suicide note that the police had found that detailed her relationship with Sooraj. At the time, Jiah and Sooraj were dating. Rabia had charged Sooraj and his family with abusing her daughter when she was alive.
Following that, the Mumbai Police detained Sooraj. He was held in custody for more than a month before being eventually freed on bond. Today, a special CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) court delivered its decision about Jiah Khan’s passing. The court declared the Hero actor “not guilty.”
Sooraj initially broke his silence in the Jiah Khan killing case back in 2019. The actor described his time in prison in an old interview. Not only that, but he also explained why he remained silent despite negative articles being written about him.
The actor narrated his story and said he was numb. ” Sooraj recalled those trying times by saying, “I was placed in the anda cell at the Arthur Road jail which is the most seclusion cell. You don’t even receive newspapers, and you have no touch with anyone. I had no feelings at all. Nothing was important at that time. I couldn’t stop worrying about losing someone I loved.
When questioned further about his quiet, Sooraj responded, “I have truly stayed silent out of respect for that family. I am sympathetic to what the family has experienced.
