Sonakshi Sinha’s brother, Luv, has clarified that a controversial quote about his brother-in-law Zaheer Iqbal’s father, which was written by a media person, has been “incorrectly attributed” to him. This statement comes days after Luv tweeted a news link explaining his reasons for skipping his sister Sonakshi Sinha’s wedding. Sonakshi and Zaheer had a registered marriage ceremony on June 23 at her Bandra apartment, attended by close family and friends.

Luv Sinha original tweet

In his original tweet, Luv stated, “The reasons are very clear as to why I didn’t attend, and would not associate with some people no matter what. I’m glad a member of the media did their research instead of relying on creative stories being put out by a PR team.”

Luv’s tweet included a passage from a Telegraph news piece, discussing the groom’s father. The quoted paragraph mentioned a “grey area” regarding Zaheer Iqbal’s father’s “proximity to a politician whose ED enquiries had vanished in the ‘washing machine.’” The paragraph Luv shared online read, “Apparently, one reason for anxiety was a rumour about the groom’s antecedents. With carefully curated news stories about his family business, nobody treads grey areas like the groom’s father’s proximity to a politician whose ED enquiries had vanished in the ‘washing machine’. Nor was there a whiff of the groom’s father’s stint in Dubai, which was rumoured to have ended rather abruptly.”

Luv Sinha Deleted Tweet

Subsequently, Luv deleted the quote from his X account and clarified in a tweet, “The quote that is being incorrectly attributed to me is not my statement and was written in an article by a senior journalist. The matter is now closed, and I will not be commenting on it any further.”

Despite deleting the media quote, Luv’s initial tweet suggesting that Zaheer Iqbal’s father’s political connections were the reason for his absence at the wedding remains on his profile. This situation has sparked a wave of media attention and speculation regarding the true nature of the familial dynamics at play.
