On July 2, 2024, Prachi Mishra, a friend of Sonakshi Sinha, posted an intimate look of her wedding to Zaheer Iqbal on Instagram. Sonakshi and Zaheer could be heard in the video yelling with delight as they celebrated their big day. The two were in sync with the dhol beats and felt the spirit of Honey Singh’s tunes. Prachi, who shared the video, said Sonakshi and Zaheer were unfazed by rumours in the media and wrote:
“In the age where every single detail of the Big Day is outsourced. We received a surprise in the form of a voice message and video call, both of which emphasised that Sona and Zahir, the callers (now Man and Wife) are getting married and we should dress to impress! Everything was so personal like old times! The media had their considerable share of speculation but our blockbuster Jodi was unaffected and focused on how all their guests can feel at home.”

She went on to discuss the specifics of Sonakshi and Zaheer’s marriage, adding that Kanyadan had followed the registered marriage. Additionally, the guests observed the simultaneous divine fusion of azaan and mantras. Prachi wished the couple all the happiness and serenity in the world, writing:
“The marriage began with a civil ceremony followed by the Hindu custom of Kanyadan (the bride’s parents giving away their daughter to the groom). This essential ceremony became even more holy when the chanting of the mantras divinely amalgamated with the sound of the Azaan from the mosque. ‘Love conquers all’ only read and hear but looking at you guys it made us believe as well! Wishing you both a very happy and blissful life together. May God protect both of you from all the Buri Nazar!”
Sonakshi Sinha is not converting into Islam after marriage
Following her interfaith marriage to Zaheer Iqbal, Sonakshi Sinha’s conversion to Islam became a topic of discussion. Sonakshi’s father-in-law, Iqbal Ratansi, disclosed to the Free Press Journal that the actress is not becoming an Islamic convert. The union of Sonakshi and Zaheer is a symbol of their love for one another and has nothing to do with their respective religions. Ratansi also mentioned:
“She is not converting and that is for sure. Theirs is a union of hearts and religion has no role to play whatsoever. I believe in humanity. God is called Bhagwan by Hindus and Allah by Muslims. But at the end of the day, we are all human beings. My blessings are with Zaheer and Sonakshi.”
