‘Sonakshi Doesn’t Listen…’: When Luv Sinha Was Concerned About Actress For Her Love Life
Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha and actor Zaheer Iqbal recently married after seven years of dating, in a ceremony blessed by their families. However, the joyous occasion was marred by the absence of Sonakshi’s older brother, Luv Sinha, who expressed his disapproval of the union on social media.
Rumours of Sonakshi and Zaheer’s relationship have circulated for some time, with Luv previously expressing his concerns in various interviews. In a 2023 interview with Siddharth Kannan, Luv voiced his protective stance towards his sister, stating, “As a brother, I will always be concerned about other individuals. Everyone tries to project themselves a certain way, but the reality can be very different. I feel it’s my duty to check on anyone and everyone.”
Luv emphasized that his protective nature stems from a place of care and not possessiveness. “I just like to say what I believe. It’s different that she doesn’t listen. She is how she is. Outsiders may benefit, they always have an agenda. I am only thinking as an older brother,” he said. He added that while he advises out of concern, the final decision rests with the individual. “If someone wants to jump in a well, they will do it even if you try to stop them,” he noted.
Days after the wedding, Luv tweeted that he did not attend the ceremony, citing his unwillingness to “associate with some people no matter what.” He also shared an article about Zaheer’s father, which he later deleted. In a subsequent tweet, Luv clarified that the controversial quote attributed to him was actually from a senior journalist, and he declared the matter resolved, stating, “The matter is now closed, and I will not be commenting on it any further.”
Speculation about familial tension surfaced when veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha mentioned awaiting official word on his daughter’s wedding. However, he clarified that he would attend, and both he and Sonakshi’s mother, Poonam Sinha, along with her brother Kussh, were present at the wedding.
Despite the family drama, Sonakshi and Zaheer’s union marks a new chapter in their lives, celebrated by most of their loved ones.
