There was a time when in 2012, Shahrukh Khan was banned from entering the Wankhede Stadium. This ban lasted for about five years. The reason for this was a controversy. During an IPL match, Shahrukh Khan had a dispute with the staff and security there regarding his team Kolkata Knight Riders. That controversy was widely covered in the media and it was also criticised a lot. However, the ban was lifted after three years.

Shahrukh Khan said that he was very angry and upset at that time. He remembered that his children were also present there. The staff thought that there might be a rule to remove them. The actor said that he told that person, ‘These are our children and we are taking them away’.

Shahrukh Khan said that during the dispute, a person used a word that was insulting to a person from Delhi. He said that this word is rude even in Marathi. Shahrukh further said that that controversy was a bit religious and wrong. The actor also admitted that during that time he lost his temper and went to beat the man.
