Sanjay Dutt, who was originally set to feature in the Ajay Devgn-starrer Son of Sardaar 2, has been replaced by another actor following the rejection of his UK visa. The British government reportedly canceled Dutt’s visa due to his 1993 arrest related to the possession of illegal weapons. This decision has sparked significant controversy, with Dutt recently addressing the issue publicly.

In an interview with Bombay Times, Sanjay Dutt expressed his frustration with the UK government’s decision. “I know one thing, that the UK government didn’t do the right thing,” he said. According to Dutt, his visa was initially approved, and all necessary payments and preparations had been made for his trip. “Everything was ready. Then a month later, you are canceling my visa! I gave the UK government all the papers and everything required,” he added, highlighting his discontent with the unexpected reversal.

Dutt further criticised the delay in the visa rejection, questioning why it took the authorities a month to make their decision. “How come it took you one month to realize the laws?” he asked, visibly upset. He then dismissed the importance of visiting the UK, citing recent unrest in the country. “Anyway, who wants to go to the UK? There are so many riots happening there. Even the Indian government has issued a statement that you should not visit the UK. So, I am not missing out on anything.”

The impact of the visa rejection extends beyond Son of Sardaar 2, as Dutt’s involvement in Housefull 5 is also reportedly affected. This development has left the actor’s upcoming projects in a state of uncertainty.

For context, Sanjay Dutt was arrested in 1993 under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) and was later convicted for possessing illegal weapons. He served a five-year prison sentence, which he completed in 2016.
