In a recent controversy, actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has addressed allegations made by cabinet minister Konda Surekha concerning the breakup of her marriage to actor Naga Chaitanya. Surekha claimed that KT Rama Rao (KTR), the president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), played a pivotal role in the dissolution of the couple’s relationship, suggesting that his interference created rifts within the Akkineni family.

Photo: InstagramIn response, Samantha took to Instagram to express her thoughts, stating, “To be a woman, to come out and work, to survive in a glamorous industry where women are more often than not treated as props, to fall in love & to fall out of love, to still stand up and fight… It takes a lot of courage and strength.” She urged Surekha to recognize the impact of her words, saying, “Konda Surekha Garu, I am proud of what this journey turned me into—please don’t trivialise it. I hope you realise that your words carry significant weight as a minister. I implore you to be responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy.”
Samantha emphasised that her divorce is a personal matter, urging others to refrain from speculation. She clarified, “Our choice to keep things private doesn’t invite misrepresentation. To clarify: my divorce was mutual consent and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved. Could you please keep my name out of political battles? I have always remained non-political and wish to continue doing so.”
In a related development, Naga Chaitanya has recently become engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala. The engagement was welcomed warmly by his father, Nagarjuna Akkineni, who announced it on social media. Nagarjuna noted that the couple chose the date based on auspiciousness after consulting family astrologers.
Addressing the media about his upcoming wedding, Chaitanya emphasized the importance of tradition and family in the ceremony. “Marriage is about the people who are significant in my life. It doesn’t need to be an extravagant affair, but it will definitely honour our culture and traditions,” he stated.
