Legendary actor Rishi Kapoor passed away on Thursday after a two-year-long battle with leukaemia. The final rites of the actor was performed later, the same evening, with his wife, Neetu Kapoor and son, Ranbir Kapoor standing on either side. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan and siblings Randhir Kapoor. Rajeev Kapoor and Rima Jain were also there to bid adieu to the legendary actor. Also Ranbir Kapoor’s girlfriend Alia Bhatt stood like a rock by the family during their tough times.
In an interview with Mid Day in 2018, speaking about his death wish Rishi had said, “It is high time he got married. I settled down when I was 27, Ranbir is 35. So he should think about marriage. He can marry anyone of his choice; we don’t have any objection to it. I want to spend time with my grandchildren before I am gone.”
Ranbir Kapoor, who is currently dating Alia Bhatt wrote a heartfelt note on the passing away of the legendary actor whom she has know as a friend, a fellow chinese food lover, a fighter, a leader, a beautiful storyteller, an extremely passionate tweeter and a father!. Her note could be read as, “What can I say. About this beautiful man… who brought soo much love and goodness into my life. Today, everyone speaks of the legend that is Rishi Kapoor… and though I have known him like that all my life… for the past two years, I have known him as a friend, a fellow Chinese food lover, a total cinema lover, a fighter, a leader, a beautiful storyteller, an extremely passionate tweeter and a father! “
It could be further read as, “In these past two years, the love I have received from him is a warm hug that I will always cherish! I thank the universe for giving me this opportunity to know him… today probably most of us can say he is like family – because that’s how he made you feel. Love you, Rishi Uncle! Will miss you forever! Thank you for being you!”
