Bollywood stars Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal are celebrating the arrival of their first child, a daughter born on July 16. The couple shared their joyous news in a heartfelt joint statement, saying, “We are tickled pink with joy to announce the arrival of a healthy baby girl on 16.07.24! Our families are overjoyed and we thank our well-wishers for their love and blessings!”
Maternity Photoshoot
Just before the baby’s arrival, Chadha and Fazal participated in a maternity photoshoot that captured the intimate moments of their journey to parenthood. In the images, Richa is seen cradling her baby bump, with Ali tenderly touching it. In one evocative shot, she lies down with Ali, both appearing deep in thought.
Richa shared the photos on social media, accompanied by a poetic post: “What can a love so pure bring forth into the world, but a beam of light? Thank you for being my partner on this incredible journey @alifazal9, through this lifetime and many more, through star lights and galaxies… thank you for getting genius @ridburman to shoot us in our natural habitat.”
In her post, she expressed a wish for their daughter, saying, “May we bring forth a warrior of light, a child of compassion, empathy, healing, and above all, love. Ameen!” She also included a Sanskrit verse emphasizing the infinite nature of the universe, concluding with, “Aum! Peace! Peace! Peace!”
Richa explained the decision to disable comments on the post, noting, “Comments are off, because this is the most private thing I have posted.”
Their Journey
Chadha and Fazal’s love story began on the sets of the film Fukrey. The couple announced their engagement in September 2022 and tied the knot in an eco-friendly ceremony in Lucknow on October 4. Earlier this year, they shared the news of their pregnancy with a joint social media post reading “1+1=3,” with the caption, “A tiny heartbeat is the loudest sound in our world.”
As the couple embraces parenthood, their fans and well-wishers across the globe are celebrating this new chapter in their lives.
