Actress Raveena Tondon has always been a headstrong woman who never shies away from speaking against any wrong practice. The diva has ruled the hearts of millions of fans in the 90s and still continues to do so. The fans and followers of the actress are more than delighted to see her back on screen in her upcoming web series Aranyak.

Talking about her strong personality, Raveena has once again spoken about a serious issue that celebrities have to face quite often. We are talking about the ‘blind items’ which are the articles that target a certain actor without naming him. In an interview, Raveena said that things have changed since the time she had started out as they didn’t have the access to social media to put out their side of the story or call out fake news.

“There has been a very positive change because in those days, honestly, you were body-shamed, you were personally attacked and rumours were spread without knowing the truth. Today, you have social media platforms where you can instantly put out the truth along with proof. But in those days, you were completely at the mercy of the editors, who had printed a crap story and once the headlines hit, they hit and your mental health be damned,” Raveena said.

The actress then recalled an incident that forced a veteran actress’s sister to commit suicide. “I remember a veteran actress whose sister actually tried to commit suicide because they wrote a story of her trying to seduce her own sister’s husband which was complete crap!” she said.

Raveena continued further and said, “She was in my gym and I remember that she ended up in the hospital because of an OD (overdose) of sleeping pills because of that story. If I could go back and read some of the atrocious shit that was written about me, I would want to sue the pants off these people.”
