Rashami Desai got married to her Uttaran co-star Nandish Sandhu in 2012. However, their marriage couldn’t last long and the two got separated within a few years. In the past, Rashami has spoken length about their separation and especially during her stint in Bigg Boss 13. Now, in a recent interview, Rashami Desai got candid on her divorce from Nadish Sandhu and revealed how she faced society judgment during her divorce.
Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Rashami Desai spoke about the separation phase and called it ‘stressful’. She mentioned that during the time of the divorce, she pretended to be someone she was not as she did not want people to know about the emotions that she was going through. She was quoted saying by the portal, “Honestly, when I was in that process, the entire process was stressful. I couldn’t deal with it. Hence, I wasn’t being myself and was trying to be someone who I was not.”
Speaking about getting judged by the society and how judgments are passed only towards one person. She said, “I was always upfront, but during that phase, everyone was doubting me. People judge you independently and not as a couple. They don’t understand that it was between two people. There must be a reason right? We got separated and the partner has moved on and I am doing good.”
Rashami also reveals being in depression and how she managed to overcome it. “There used to be numbness in me. I was in depression and no one understood or took care of me. There was nobody to acknowledge my issue. My childhood was troubled, but thankfully my professional life was good. My personal life was messy but I realised that I am not answerable to anyone but me. The moment I realised things became easier,” she said.
