Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, known for his provocative statements, stirred the internet on Tuesday evening with his latest comments about gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The director, who has been considering a biopic on the notorious criminal, claimed that Bishnoi is more “good-looking” than any Bollywood star.

Varma took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share a photo of Lawrence Bishnoi dressed in an orange t-shirt paired with a black-and-orange hoodie. Along with the image, he wrote, “If a film is based on the BIGGEST GANGSTER, no filmmaker will cast a guy who looks like DAWOOD IBRAHIM or CHOTA RAJAN. But here, I don’t know a single FILM STAR who is more GOOD LOOKING than B.”

The post quickly went viral, drawing a wave of reactions from X users. One commenter humorously suggested, “Casting Salman Khan as Lawrence will be the biggest irony,” while another quipped, “RGV’s new-found crush!” Other users joined in, with one remarking, “That’s a good point! It’s like Hollywood casting supermodels to play gritty detectives—you rarely see a realistic match. If Bishnoi’s life makes it to the big screen, they’ll probably go for someone way more glamorous, making it a ‘Bollywood’ version in every sense.” Another user added, “Let him [Bishnoi] do his own role. I hope you direct his biography.”

Provocation Aimed at Salman Khan

In a follow-up post, Varma appeared to provoke Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, writing, “I wish @BeingSalmanKhan will give a SUPER COUNTER THREAT to B or otherwise, it will look like a COWARDICE of the TIGER STAR. SK owes it to his fans to rise up as the BIGGER SUPERHERO in comparison to B.”

The filmmaker’s comments reference the long-standing tension between Bishnoi and Khan. Bishnoi’s hostility toward the actor stems from the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, which involved Salman Khan in Rajasthan. Bishnoi has issued several public threats against the actor and is allegedly linked to the murder of Salman’s close aide, NCP leader Baba Siddique.

On the Professional Front

While Salman Khan is currently busy filming for Bigg Boss 18 and Sikandar, Ram Gopal Varma’s most recent directorial project was the Telugu film Vyooham. Varma’s ongoing fascination with Bishnoi suggests that a potential biopic could be in the works, though nothing has been officially confirmed.
