Shah Rukh Khan, famously known as the “King of Bollywood,” continues to enchant fans worldwide with his charisma and acting prowess. The Dunki actor recently offered a glimpse into his unconventional lifestyle, shedding light on his late-night routine and disciplined fitness regimen.
In an interview with The Guardian, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that his daily schedule is far from typical. The actor shared that he usually goes to bed around 5 a.m. and wakes up between 9 and 10 a.m. if he has a shoot. Despite the late hours, he remains committed to maintaining his fitness, even squeezing in a workout before heading to bed after returning home from work at 2 a.m.
Reflecting on his activities during the pandemic, Khan noted that with limited options available, he encouraged his family and friends to take up Italian cooking and exercise. True to his word, Khan dedicated time to building his physique, sticking to a routine that includes eating just one meal a day—a personal choice that isn’t driven by intermittent fasting. The Jawan star also mentioned that he spends about half an hour at the gym daily, ensuring he stays in top shape for his demanding roles.
“I go to sleep at five in the morning. When Mark Wahlberg gets up, I go off to sleep. And then I wake up about nine or 10 if I’m shooting. But then I will come home at 2 a.m., take a bath, and then work out before I go to sleep,” Khan explained.
On the professional front, Khan is gearing up for his next project, King, directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film, which also stars his daughter Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan, is an action thriller centered around a mentor-disciple relationship. The plot highlights Khan’s character as “The King of the World… Underworld,” promising an intense and gripping narrative.
In a recent conversation with Variety, Khan expressed excitement about the project, sharing that he has long desired to work on a film of this nature. Produced by Siddharth Anand, the director of Pathaan, King marks a return to the action genre for Khan, fulfilling a creative aspiration that he has held for nearly a decade.
