BTS’ J-Hope is known for his infectious sense of humour, often leaving fans in stitches with his sunny disposition. A memorable moment from a 2019 V LIVE session showcased his comedic charm when he found himself torn between celebrating one fan’s graduation and emphasising another’s unemployment.

During the live stream, J-Hope was in high spirits as he read comments from fans. When one ARMY announced it was their graduation day, he enthusiastically clapped and beamed, exclaiming, “It’s a new beginning!” However, his mood shifted when he read a follow-up comment revealing that another fan was unemployed. His immediate reaction was a mix of confusion and concern. “You’re unemployed?” he asked, taken aback.

Caught off guard, J-Hope paused before responding, awkwardly nodding and blinking as he attempted to maintain his upbeat demeanour. Despite his uncertainty, he continued to clap, saying, “It’s only a beginning,” albeit with a hint of discomfort. This endearing moment of awkwardness quickly went viral, with fans praising his ability to find humour even in challenging situations.

As fans relished this moment, J-Hope was also navigating a significant chapter in his life. He completed an 18-month mandatory military service, enlisting in April 2023 as the second BTS member after Jin. During his time in the military, he excelled, earning an early promotion to corporal and serving as a platoon leader, recognized for his marksmanship and first-aid skills.

With his discharge approaching, fans are eagerly anticipating J-Hope’s next steps. Although he won’t reunite with the remaining BTS members until after 2025, excitement surrounds his solo projects. His latest EP, HOPE ON THE STREET Vol. 1, released in March, showcased his passion for dance alongside a six-episode docu-series of the same name.

J-Hope’s blend of humour and talent continues to endear him to fans, leaving them excited for what he will bring in the future. His ability to connect with fans through laughter and artistry ensures he remains a beloved figure in the K-pop world.
