Actor Kangana Ranaut and filmmaker Hansal Mehta have joined the chorus of praise for the horror-comedy Stree 2, lauding the film’s success and its creative team. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film features Shraddha Kapoor and RajKummar Rao in lead roles and has been celebrated for its engaging narrative and strong performances. Both Ranaut and Mehta took to social media to commend the film and highlight the often-overlooked role of directors in Indian cinema.

In a post on her Instagram Stories, Ranaut congratulated the entire team behind Stree 2, but made a pointed observation about the industry’s tendency to overlook directors. “Movie Stree has shattered all records, congratulations to the entire team, but the real hero of a film is the director,” she wrote.

Ranaut emphasized that in India, directors do not receive enough credit or appreciation, which she believes discourages young talents from pursuing careers as filmmakers. “Everyone who wants a career in films meets me for guidance, wants to be either an actor or a superstar. Who will make movies if all become actors? Socho!” she questioned.

Ranaut urged her followers to recognize and appreciate the hard work of directors like Kaushik, saying, “Please learn the names of all good directors, who do so much to entertain and engage you.”

Similarly, Hansal Mehta, who shared a poster of Stree 2 on Twitter, described the film as “a triumph for Indian mainstream cinema.” He praised the movie as a “talent vehicle” that showcases exceptional writing, directing, and acting. Mehta lauded RajKummar Rao for his performance, Amar Kaushik for his directorial prowess, and writer Niren Bhatt for his consistent storytelling. “Finally, real talent wins,” Mehta concluded, calling the film’s success a victory for genuine creativity in the industry.

Stree 2, which opened on August 15, 2024, has been performing strongly at the box office, earning ₹90.3 crore in India so far. The film’s cast also features special appearances by Akshay Kumar and Varun Dhawan.
