Mrs. Sri Lanka Pushpika was hitting the headlines in the news when Mrs. Caroline Jurie grabbed the crown from her head and offered it to the other runner-up. However, according to the latest reports, both Mrs. world Caroline Jurie and model Chula Padmendra have been arrested by police for the incident.
Mrs. Sri Lanka Pageant told in a press conference, “This crown is devoted to those single mothers who are struggling to raise their children alone. She further shared that she will take legal action for attempting unreasonable cause. Besides, now these women are under arrest over the incident on charges of a criminal offense. Ajith Rohana, a police spokesman, told the BBC. According to sources, Mrs. Jurie and the chief organizer of the Mrs. Sri Lanka Pageant, Chandimal Jayasinghe, were both questioned by police on Thursday. Mrs. Jurie and Padmendra both were bailed to appear in Colombo Magistrates Court on April 19. Mrs. De Silva has also been re-crowned, and the pageant’s organizers are awaiting a public apology from Mrs. Jurie.
During the pageant, Mrs. Sri Lanka winner Caroline Jurie announced that Mrs. Pushpika De Silva is the winner of ‘Mrs. Sri Lanka’ of the beauty pageant. To everyone’s surprise, the crown was taken away and given to the other runner up claiming, one has to marry and not divorced. Because of the forceful snatching, her head suffered some injuries from the incident. She then took to Facebook to express her misery. The Sri Lanka Pageant mentioned how she is seperated from her husband and not divorced.
