Kangana Ranaut recently called the Bollywood industry a gutter and this wasn’t well-received by many. Bollywood’s veteran actress Jaya Bachchan even condemned the same on the second day of monsoon session in the parliament. She even asked the government to take strict action. Now, Kangana Ranaut has heard about Jaya Bachchan’s remarks and isn’t happy with them. She has taken to Twitter to get back at Jaya Bachchan and ask her some questions.
Kangana Ranaut tweeted, “Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhishek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also.”
Jaya Bachchan in the parliament had called it a ‘conspiracy to defame the film industry’. According to ANI, Jaya Bachchan said in Parliament, “People in the entertainment industry completely disagree. I hope that the government tells such people not to use this kind of language.” She further added, “Just because there are some people, you can’t tarnish the image of the entire industry. I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame.”
Replying to a Twitter user who pointed out that the film industry employs not just actors and directors, but also technicians, Kangana wrote, “Like a famous choreographer once said ‘rape kiya toh kya hua roti to di na (so what if you’re violated, at least you got paid)’ is that what you implying? There are no proper HR departments in production houses where women can complain, no safety or insurances for those who risk their lives every day,no 8 hours shift regulations.”
