Bollywood celebrities including director David Dhawan, actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani, and veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha visited actor Govinda at CritCare Hospital on Tuesday after the actor sustained an injury from an accidental gun discharge at his home earlier in the day.

Govinda’s injury occurred around 4:45 am on Tuesday when his licensed revolver accidentally went off while he was putting it back in the cupboard, as per Mumbai Police. The actor, who was preparing to leave for Kolkata, was hit in the leg. He was immediately rushed to CritCare Hospital in Mumbai, where his condition is reported to be stable.

Family members, including Govinda’s daughter Tina Ahuja, arrived at the hospital to check on him. Kashmera Shah, wife of Govinda’s estranged nephew Krushna Abhishek, also paid a visit.

Shatrughan Sinha, after meeting Govinda, reassured the media about the actor’s recovery. “He is stable, and his condition is good,” Sinha stated, emphasizing that it was an unfortunate accident. “There are no ifs and buts in accidents. He received treatment and is on the mend.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also expressed his concern for Govinda, reaching out via phone to wish the actor a speedy recovery. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) released a statement that read, “I contacted Govinda and inquired about his health. On behalf of the state government and the public, I wished him a complete and swift recovery.”

Shashi Sinha, Govinda’s manager, provided further details about the incident, explaining that Govinda was handling his revolver when it slipped from his hand, leading to the accidental discharge. “The bullet struck him in the leg, but the doctors have removed it, and he is stable,” said Sinha.

The Mumbai Police also confirmed that while the injury was not serious, Govinda was hospitalised as a precaution.

Govinda’s brother, Kirti Kumar, offered an update on the actor’s health, stating, “His condition is improving, and he will remain in the hospital for two to three days. The bullet has been removed, and he is feeling relieved. We are grateful for everyone’s prayers.”
