Veteran actress Farida Jalal recently came forward and clarified her remarks on ‘losing touch’ with Shah Rukh Khan, saying her statement given earlier in an interview was misinterpreted. She also said that it ‘affects’ her when people believe her as saying ‘bohot farak agya hai Shah Rukh Khan mein’.
Farida Jalal Clarifies Statement About Shah Rukh Khan
In a recent interview with Zoom, veteran actress Farida Jalal addressed the misinterpretation of her previous comments about losing touch with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Jalal, known for her roles in films such as “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” and “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” had made similar remarks about Salman Khan.
Jalal explained, “I just said that the numbers I have are perhaps the old ones. They must have changed them. That’s all I had said.” She emphasized that her comments were taken out of context simply because they involved prominent figures like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. “It was an innocent question. What will I say?” she added.
The actress expressed her frustration with how her words were manipulated, stating, “I get a little affected by people saying that I have said things like ‘Bahot farak aa gaya hai Shah Rukh Khan mein’. Why would I say such a thing?” Instead, Jalal highlighted the positive transformation in Shah Rukh Khan over the years, describing him as a “seasoned actor” and “the best we have.”
Reflecting on her experience working with Shah Rukh Khan in Mahesh Bhatt’s “Duplicate” during the 1990s, Jalal recalled how his energy on set left her feeling “exhausted.”
In an earlier interview with India Today, Jalal mentioned not being in touch with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, attributing this to their changed mobile numbers. She shared that attempts to reach out to SRK often ended with “nobody on that line” and his “secretary is not kind.”
Despite the misunderstandings, Jalal’s admiration for Shah Rukh Khan remains evident, recognizing the significant growth and success he has achieved in his career.
