Global pop sensation Justin Bieber has touched down in Mumbai to perform at the highly anticipated sangeet ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. A video circulating on social media shows Bieber’s car surrounded by tight security as he makes his way through the city.
Anant Ambani, the youngest son of industrialist Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant is set to wed on July 12 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). According to a report by Portuguese portal LeoDias, the Ambani family has reportedly paid Bieber a staggering $10 million to perform at their wedding festivities. Previously, reports suggested that other global music icons such as Adele, Drake, and Lana Del Rey were also approached to perform at the wedding.

Other attendees included Shikhar’s brother Veer, former Miss World Manushi Chhillar, and Meezaan Jafri, son of renowned actor Javed Jaffrey. The event was held at Antilia, the Ambani family’s iconic residence.

In Gujarati culture, the Mameru or Mosalu ceremony takes place a few days before the wedding. This tradition involves the groom’s maternal family, in this case, represented by Nita Ambani’s relatives, visiting the bride’s home to offer blessings and gifts. Nita Ambani’s mother, Purnima Dalal, and her sister, Mamta Dalal, led the delegation, bringing customary gifts known as “Mameru” to the couple.
